Applied conversion and developer source
The inspected AFR converter applies the direct relationship target amount = source amount x V(source) / V(target). Its backend also computes structural values from weighted GDP, PPP GDP, population, efficiency, support, and anchor terms. The OpenForex TVX toolkit makes these observed calculations available as reusable TypeScript, with explicit policy inputs and provenance.
The SDK implements the conversion with decimal-string rational arithmetic, and exposes the structural model separately because fractional powers use floating-point arithmetic. The source includes the implementation boundaries and differences from the inspected application; institution-specific datasets and operating policies are not inherited as defaults.
Authority and scope
The OpenForex Society establishes the relationship A to TVX to B through its ratified Third Value Neutrality Standard. QASH occupies the third-value position. The monetary literature provides the governing foundation; implementation-specific equations, parameter sets, and machine-readable contracts are documented at their respective technical boundaries.
This page is the published implementation reference for TVX Formula 1.0.0 within OpenForex Standards. It explains the scope of the method and the evidence an implementation must identify. It does not substitute a newly invented equation for the Society's methodology.
Reference translation and valuation are different
If values for two instruments against a common unit are already supplied, their relative amount can be translated arithmetically. That operation does not explain how the common unit itself is valued, how observations are selected, or how a result becomes executable.
The GHS-USD walkthrough demonstrates only that translation with synthetic inputs. Its arithmetic must not be cited as an approved OpenForex valuation methodology.
Methodology documentation
| Area | Required documentation |
|---|---|
| Reference unit | Definition of the unit and the economic interpretation of its value |
| Eligible inputs | Admitted instruments, measurement units, quote directions, and exclusions |
| Data methodology | Observation sources, timing, aggregation, and conflict resolution |
| Transformation | Equations, variable domains, ordering, and intermediate representations |
| Precision | Working precision, final scale, rounding points, and treatment of residuals |
| Stress behavior | Missing markets, stale observations, discontinuities, and unavailable inputs |
| Governance | Version changes, review evidence, and activation conditions |
Execution invariants
An implementation should preserve dimensional consistency: an output labelled in an instrument must have that instrument's units. A method must define its valid input domain and reject values outside it. A repeated calculation with identical inputs and policy should produce identical output.
Round-trip behavior must be assessed against the declared precision and fee assumptions. It should not be described as lossless where rounding, spreads, fees, or different snapshots affect the result.
Implementation evidence
An implementation evidence package includes the applicable equations, worked derivations, reference vectors, sensitivity analysis, numeric policy, and review results. The economic methodology and software behavior should be reviewed separately and then checked for consistency.
