# Your first visit to OpenForex

OpenForex brings together a common-reference approach to value, its published literature, and tools for examining calculations. This guide helps you choose a useful first activity.

## Meet the Society behind the standards

The [OpenForex Society](?page=seed-content/about/society) is the standard-setting core of the OpenForex Foundation. Read about its purpose, standards work, governance responsibilities, and ways to participate before choosing your route through the project.

## Choose a purpose

- Understand the idea: follow the [foundations reading path](?page=start#foundations).
- Examine a method: follow the [research reading path](?page=start#research).
- Write an implementation: start in the [developer hub](?page=build).
- Improve an explanation: prepare a [contribution brief](?page=contribute).

## Three terms to know

TVX means Third Value: the common-reference relationship discussed in the literature. QASH is the reference-unit concept described by that literature. OFS is the OpenForex Stack, separating technical responsibilities such as input observations and deterministic computation.

The [glossary](?page=seed-content/reference/glossary) provides more precise definitions. Follow the meaning specified by the exact document and version you are reading.

## Follow the information from idea to evidence

Start with the [project overview](?page=seed-content/about/openforex). Then read [QASH and Third Value](?page=seed-content/qash/overview), followed by the [worked reference calculation](?page=seed-content/simulations/ghs-usd-example). The example gives you a small, inspectable calculation before you explore the longer monetary literature.

In the [learning lab](?page=lab), change a supplied reference value and compare the outcome. The exercise shows the relationship between inputs and results; it does not determine which valuation method should supply the inputs.

## Make a reading space of your own

Use Save on an article or resource card to keep it in [My reading list](?page=saved). Mark an article as read to track progress through the guided paths. These choices stay in your browser. Export the reading list if you want a portable Markdown copy.

Use Accessibility beside Search to enlarge text, change contrast, increase reading space, underline links, or reduce motion. You can also use your browser's zoom, keyboard navigation, and printing controls.

## Understand what each resource offers

The standards catalog identifies the scope and publication status of the core literature. Explanatory guides help you read that material. Worked examples demonstrate selected relationships. Software references explain the toolkit's behavior and limits. These roles are different; a working example does not certify an implementation.
