# Sources, editorial scope, and corrections

Updated 2026-09-27.

OpenForex publishes project literature, implementation references, explanatory guides, and synthetic exercises. This page explains what those materials support and how to preserve their source context.

## Identify the kind of material

| Material | What it establishes | What it does not establish on its own |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Primary project literature | The OpenForex Society's published statements and framework | Independent empirical validation or third-party recognition |
| Implementation references | Declared software behavior, interfaces, and limits | Approval of every economic assumption used by an application |
| Software provenance | The recorded origin and adaptations of a software package | Public availability of all originally inspected systems |
| Explanatory guides | A reading aid that connects project references | A new standard or an institutional decision |
| Synthetic worked examples | Arithmetic under explicitly supplied assumptions | A live market quote, executable price, or settlement service |

Publication and ratification labels in the project literature describe the publisher's stated status. A third-party audit, certification, legal status, or review should be claimed only where a specific supporting record is available. This website does not turn its own status label into independent evidence.

## Follow a claim to its source

Read the linked source, identify its version, and check the scope of the claim. For computation behavior, use the [TVX SDK contracts](?page=developer/toolkit-contracts) and [software provenance record](?page=developer/toolkit-provenance). For the project's monetary framework, start with the [Third Value Neutrality Standard](?page=docs/OpenForex_Society_TVX_Neutrality_Standard_Full_Text).

Each article has a Sources & citation section. Referenced material lists links present in that article; inclusion is not an endorsement or a claim that every linked document independently proves the article's conclusions. Some project repository resources require access; the downloadable SDK and its public references remain usable without it.

## External context and data definitions

Use primary data providers to understand inputs before applying a model. The following sources describe distinct concepts and do not validate the OpenForex model:

- [World Bank: GDP in current US dollars](https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.MKTP.CD) provides the nominal GDP indicator and its source metadata.
- [World Bank: GDP at purchasing power parity, current international dollars](https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.MKTP.PP.CD) provides the PPP GDP indicator and its source metadata.
- [IMF: Special Drawing Rights](https://www.imf.org/en/about/factsheets/sheets/2023/special-drawing-rights-sdr) explains the IMF's SDR. It is contextual reading, not an assertion that QASH has the SDR's institutional status or characteristics.

For a reproducible experiment, record the indicator, units, economy, period, retrieval date, source revision where available, and any transformation. GDP measures with different units or price bases are not interchangeable without a stated method. This website does not fetch live macroeconomic observations for the learning lab.

## Cite a particular text

Cite the article title, publisher, canonical URL, and your access date. Include the source version and source-stated update when supplied. Download the Markdown and retain its SHA-256 fingerprint when a review depends on exact wording. The website's current URL may change over time; the fingerprint identifies text but does not itself create an archived copy.

Dates are shown only when stated by the source. A deployment date is not a new ratification date. Founder attribution identifies the project's origin; it does not imply that the founder individually authored or reviewed every article.

## Corrections and review

Use the [contribution brief builder](?page=contribute) to record the affected URL, the statement in question, the evidence, and a proposed correction. The builder downloads a brief; it does not submit it. Follow the available channel on the [source repository page](?page=developer/repository). Repository access may be required.

Changes to a method or governance decision follow the [RFC process](?page=seed-content/rfc-proposals/index). Editorial improvements should preserve the distinction between what the source states, what a calculation demonstrates, and what remains a proposal.
