# Community funding principles

Updated 2026-09-24.

## Status and purpose
This framework describes transparent support for the OpenForex Society's established standards service within the OpenForex Foundation. Funding disclosure protects the independence of the working Standard and the community it serves. Payment arrangements and account details are published separately.

## Independence
Support must not secretly alter standards or create hidden technical privilege. Sponsorship should not purchase favorable implementation reviews, oracle selection, voting rights, or exceptions to published requirements. Any arrangement that could affect independent judgment requires disclosure and review.

## Support categories
Potential categories include donations, institutional sponsorship, grants, technical fellowships, infrastructure assistance, documentation, and translation. Publish the actual scope of an arrangement rather than implying that every category is available.

## Funding disclosure record
| Item | What to explain |
| --- | --- |
| Supporter | Public attribution where agreed and appropriate |
| Resource | Funding, equipment, services, or time provided |
| Purpose | Work supported and expected deliverables |
| Conditions | Restrictions, deadlines, recognition, and relevant interests |
| Stewardship | Who is authorized to accept and account for support |
| Outcome | Progress, changes, unused resources, and closure |

Do not publish personal financial information or confidential donor details merely to demonstrate transparency. Describe an appropriate aggregate or agreed disclosure instead.

## Review and accountability
Before accepting a restricted arrangement, identify whether conditions conflict with neutral standards work. Record that review and how conflicts will be managed. Any refund, cancellation, tax, or reporting terms must come from the actual adopted arrangement, not assumptions in this guide.

## Current availability
No verified payment destination or sponsorship contact is supplied. The [support page](?page=foundation/support) lists work people can prepare now. The [governance model](?page=docs/governance) explains institutional decision responsibilities.
